Meet Marc

I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community and I’m neurodivergent myself. That’s not a footnote – it’s a significant part of who I am and how I work. When I sit with a young person who feels like they don’t fit, or an adult who’s spent their whole life masking and exhausted by it, I’m not just drawing on clinical knowledge. I understand, at a personal level, what that experience can feel like.
My background means I’ve also got a great deal of lived experience of what many of the young people and families I work with are going through. I bring that with me because I believe it makes therapy feel safer and less like being observed, and more like being understood.
I’m a calm, grounding presence. My approach is deeply person-centred – meaning your goals, your pace, and your needs lead the way.

A Special Interest in Children & Young People
Working with children is where my heart is. I’ve spent a huge part of my career supporting young people – and I know that no two children are the same, no two sessions will ever be identical, and flexibility is everything.
I draw on art therapy, music therapy, Lego therapy, play therapy, and therapeutic storytelling – adapting moment to moment to meet each child where they are that day. Sometimes a planned session needs to be thrown out the window the moment a child walks in, and that’s not a problem. That’s good therapy.
I also have extensive experience supporting young people with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition, and other neurodivergent profiles, as well as those navigating gender and sexuality – always in a safe, non-judgmental space.

When I’m Not in the Therapy Room…
You’ll probably find me somewhere outdoors, hiking, exploring, or planning my next adventure. I’m a bit obsessed with travel (New Zealand has a very special place in my heart), and I’m a self-confessed winery enthusiast with a particular weakness for a good Gisborne Chardonnay.
I believe that living a full life makes me a better therapist. The more grounded and human I am outside of the room, the more genuinely present I can be inside it.
